Hi, I upgraded my CPU and motherboard to a Gigabyte B660 gaming x DDR4 with an Intel i5-12400. I kept my old drives, including one M.2 from Samsung and some SATA SSDs. The M.2 drive is set as the boot drive. However, in the BIOS Boot menu it says "No bootable devices found," even though I see my drives listed. The upgrade was needed because my PSU and motherboard stopped working recently. Could this have affected the SSD? Let me know if you need more details.
Your previous Windows setup probably used an MBR drive, and the new board likely has CSM/Legacy boot disabled by default. You can either turn that on or, as recommended, leave CSM off and reinstall Windows. If the old installation wasn't set up correctly before removal, you may face problems even if it boots in the new system.
It might be a really annoying process trying to get your old Windows setup running smoothly. I usually choose to reinstall unless the update is very small, such as switching from a Ryzen 2600x to a Ryzen 3600, where the differences are minimal and drivers should remain mostly unchanged.
