I've observed that Windows 10 doesn't shut down properly—it often just puts the system to sleep. Pressing and holding the power button occasionally causes it to shut down completely, while other times it simply goes into sleep mode. I've tried using the power icon in Windows 10 and manually initiating a shutdown, but the issue still occurs unpredictably. It's not a major problem, but it's quite bothersome.

You're trying to force a shutdown by pressing and holding the power button, which will trigger a manual stop. It usually takes about six seconds and isn't the proper method for ending an operating system. Have you explored the "power options" settings and checked all the available features inside it?

I attempted a simple button press but it didn't consistently function, possibly due to incorrect wiring. I checked the area and confirmed no visible issues, except for my gaming hard drive shutting down after five minutes of inactivity, which I addressed by adjusting it.

In the higher power configurations there are extra power controls and a lid, along with a power button feature. It could be configured to put the system to sleep rather than completely shut down. I also use the power button to halt my PC, but pressing it initiates the correct operating system shutdown process.
