Device lost all data after installing Android 14 on SD card.
If one program stops working, another might still work. qphotorec couldn’t retrieve anything, but there should still be backups on other devices. Merged storage wasn’t enabled, and you were able to move the device without issues, suggesting the problem was likely with Android itself.
Consider the value of your data on the SD card first. Professional recovery options exist but come with high costs. If your information is worth less than $1000, it’s probably best not to pursue them—there’s little chance of finding good deals. Services around $3000 are available, so clarify their requirements and any additional fees before they begin work. For the most important data, reach out to Rossmann Repair Group; they’re experienced and helpful. If budget isn’t a constraint, enterprise-level recovery services often charge significantly more but tend to be more effective.
Thank you for your assistance. I couldn't get my data back, but I identified the real issue. It seems something went wrong during the update. People with phones similar to mine reported the same problem. After updating to XOS 14, several users had their external storage cleared and some even wiped their internal storage as well.
