I'm working on assembling a PC for a friend. Everything was configured but nothing was shared online yet. The key details are: CPU 7800X3D, GPU 5090, RAM CORSAIR VENGEANCE MOBO, ASUS ROG X870E motherboard. There are error codes and LEDs on the motherboard but they don't power up. The fans aren't spinning and the CPU isn't heating. The RAM lights work. We replaced the 5090 with a 3070 yet it didn't help. Any advice? You suspect a motherboard problem.
Consider testing without the GPU using the IGPU. You might attempt it with just a single RAM stick, perhaps in another slot. Updating your BIOS is also an option—what is your power supply unit?
IGPU and another model (3070) remain unchanged. I also tried ramen, which cleared the CMOS, but I’m not sure about updating the BIOS. The PSU is a lian-li 1000W—some people say bad things about it, though I don’t know more.

It relies on the timing between the CPU and the motherboard. New AM5 chips are appearing now, but your board might not support them yet.
Yes, the GPU should still function properly and there should be no error messages displayed.
