I just moved from a 5800x3d to a 7800x3d but it’s not working. The motherboard is an ASUS B650M-A CSM 32GB DDR5 GDDR5 with a G.Skill Trident 6000 CL30/38/96 and an RX790X. I changed the BIOS, reconnected the power supply, re-seated the RAM, and reinstalled the CPU. When I power it on, everything lights up—fans, GPU, and RAM (the RAM lights up a bit after everything else). My thought is the CPU might be faulty if there’s anything I missed or I have a better idea. Thanks for your help! Happy Holidays.

It waited about five minutes before posting. Zen 5 4 requires a long time to load memory on startup.

There are several approaches you can consider. You might start by launching with just one stick of memory in the furthest memory slot from the processor. Alternatively, you can utilize the motherboard’s BIOS flashback function to update your system’s firmware.

Did you reassemble everything outside the case and only use the essential parts to start up? Make sure no drives are installed so the cooler stays properly spaced to avoid overheating. Install at least one RAM stick per slot, ensuring no bent pins in the socket. All cables must be fully connected at both ends—PSU to MBOARD and MBOARD to case.

Already went through the bios flashback, checked every RAM spot but only the farthest one seems to work

It seems to be functioning with one RAM stick placed farthest from the CPU, and it finally posted. Adding the other stick works, but it’s running significantly slower than expected—much slower than a 5800X3D.
