I'm dealing with an unusual issue involving my new computer. After numerous stress tests—R23, Furmark, Memtest86—I haven't encountered any faults. The problem only appears when browsing the web, especially when tooltips appear. It freezes suddenly, becoming unresponsive to keyboard and mouse input, displaying just the last screen frame. During calls, I can still converse normally and hear my interlocutors. Pressing the reset button leaves the system stuck in POST mode with the CPU failure indicator illuminated on the motherboard, and it won't respond even after a reset. Occasionally, if I turn off the power for a short time, the issue resolves, but once it starts, it persists for several hours of operation. Remarkably, turning off the power every night resolves the problem completely, allowing normal functioning for about 30 hours. The most surprising part is that dimming or removing the PSU power supply works, but leaving it on causes the issue to reappear within a couple of days. My PC specifications include an i7-12700K, MSI Tomhawk Z690, DDR4 3600 CL16 SSD, and a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro with Corsair RMx850 Gold case. All components are brand new and roughly two months old.

I’m uncertain about the exact cause. Try refreshing your operating system and applications to check if that helps reduce crashes. It could also stem from a firmware problem—make sure drivers are up to date and consider updating the BIOS. The PC’s sleep mode settings might be another factor, though I’m not entirely clear on how they affect performance.

The issue appears with two BIOS versions. After a clean Windows install using only standard drivers, the problem persists. I’ve found one method to prevent the hang: turning off the power for a brief moment each day. It seems there might be a reset mechanism involving capacitors in the power supply or motherboard.

If unplugging it daily fixed the issue, I’d definitely keep doing it. It might be bothersome, but rather than trying a fix, it’s easier to continue the same habit.

I've never come across anything like this before on my PC. People usually discuss it in mining circles or file folders, especially miners who work around the clock.

It's quite simple to turn the switch on and off each day. However, I'm concerned about whether this could indicate an issue with the power source, and if it worsens, could damage my computer. I also need to understand how this occurs and why it happens.

The problems you're facing seem odd and unpredictable. It's quite perplexing.

My device often shuts down unexpectedly, especially at night. On my previous system, leaving the power adapter connected was fine for a long time. Now, with the latest model, I need to unplug it daily to prevent freezing when restarting.

Ensure the CPU EPS connector is completely seated by applying firm pressure on both the board and PSU, pushing until it feels like you're about to break something. For the 24-pin ATX, set static OC to 1.2-1.25V, 4.8-5G, core type not confirmed—may help but could be worth a try.

I have inspected the cables multiple times; they are all securely fastened. I attempted to power down the e-cores, adjust the static voltage, and shut off the turbo boost, but none of these actions changed the outcome.
