My computer freezes after just a couple of seconds when the window spins. It repeats this behavior consistently, so I power it off and then restart it twice more. After a few attempts, it launches the Automatic Repair tool and claims it didn’t start properly. It will boot once after several restarts. In the repair menu, Startup Repair seems available but I’m unsure if it helps. Scanning with DISM and SFC didn’t reveal any errors. I experienced the same problem last month and tried various fixes—formatting, resetting CMOS, swapping GPU or power supply, checking RAM and SSD health. Nothing resolved the issue. Recently, a Discord user with the same CPU reported similar symptoms and suggested testing low voltages; it worked once. I’m leaning toward the CPU being the culprit since it hasn’t been changed, but I’m still undecided. Most attempts involve BIOS tweaks or formatting, which leads to booting after a restart or two before getting stuck again. Shot in low light, but you should verify your board's RAM QVL for the SKU on it. If missing, it might be the problem. If present, the RAM could be defective. I faced a similar situation with DIMMs that eventually failed in a B450 with a 3600X. I experienced a persistent hourglass cursor in Win10 and eventually couldn't start. The RAM wasn't updated to the board's QVL either.
I think the W is likely just indicating a white heat spreader, which would be identical components, though I should confirm with Corsair. There are also certain version numbers to look into for further details. I’d aim for a single-rank configuration if feasible, as some builds face problems with dual-rank setups. To confirm if the RAM is the issue, check for error codes or system messages. For the CPU, look for diagnostic indicators or performance anomalies. To verify module faults, inspect logs or manufacturer guidelines. If it's not hardware-related, AMD software updates or drivers might be involved—review those for fixes.
You can try it, but results aren't consistent. The DIMMs that seemed to trigger my random POST failure worked well on the same machine, both alone and together, yet they caused problems in a test environment while the board was being serviced. One failed to POST, the other stopped within two weeks. Memory testing should be approached with caution in certain cases. It's worth noting that the kit I used wasn't verified for all three boards, and each had problems. I was unsure before, but now I understand. It's best to check the QVL list for that board in any unusual case and see if it appears. This way you can test without fearing QVL affects other issues. Some believe QVL has no impact, but I've seen it matter. Even without QVL issues, the RAM might still be faulty, just because it passed tests.
