Device failure to appear in system diagnostics
I'm facing an issue with my motherboard's built-in sound card. Windows Out of Blue can't detect it. It worked before, but I haven't used it much lately—first connected speakers through the monitor, then via USB audio interface. Recently, when trying to connect headphones through the front jack, nothing came out. The Reaktek console reported it wasn't supported. Device Manager showed no sound card listed. A hidden driver was present but seemed disconnected. Reinstalling drivers didn't help. I removed other audio drivers except for the NVIDIA one, which still didn't appear. I tried enabling and disabling it in BIOS, but nothing changed. I updated the BIOS thinking a new release from ASUS might be available, but it still isn't showing. My motherboard is an ASUS TUF B550m Plus WIFI II, purchased from Amazon about 3-4 months ago. I reached out to ASUS, explaining it's a grey market item without warranty. I'm unsure what's wrong and wonder if returning it to Amazon would be the best option. Also, I'm considering reinstalling Windows because my audio devices might be conflicting.
Open Task Manager and Services, check if the Audiosrv service is active. It seems both your and another user's services aren’t working properly, with issues starting unexpectedly. Some suggest it might be a driver problem, though confirmation isn’t available.
