I’m setting up a new system with an i5-6500 processor on an MSI Gaming Pro Carbon Z270. I turned on XMP right away, but after restarting I lost the video connection and the VGA debug light came on. After resetting the BIOS by jumping JBAT1 pins, I still couldn’t get the display working. Someone can help identify the issue?
Reposition the video card back into its slot with care. Verify the installation is correct after insertion. For the testbench, a cardboard box might shift slightly—this is normal. If using an iGPU, also reposition the CPU. Ensure all parts are securely connected with their power cables.
I’ll reposition the CPU once I’m back home later. All else seems fine. Honestly, this was the part I feared most because of how sensitive the CPU is. I could also attempt to transfer my GT 1030 from my current desktop to the board to check if it makes a difference. Thanks.

I found something interesting—it works in the operating system! There’s no video display, but when I connected my latest boot drive it loads properly. I’m experimenting with swapping RAM to another slot to check if that improves things. Still no video output detected. Updated May 25, 2022 by Commander Neon. No luck on the video side.
