I assembled my first PC and it seems to be dead. There’s no sign of power or any activity. When I attempt to start it—pressing the power button or touching the pins—it doesn’t respond, not even fans or lights. The motherboard shows no illumination except when I press the flash BIOS button at the back during a refresh attempt, which lights up an LED on the top left. The RAM, CPU, and cables have been repositioned several times without success. I also checked for physical damage on the pins, but found none. My next idea was the power supply; I tried shorting the pins on the 24-pin cable, but it didn’t help. Then I moved to the CMOS battery, formatting a USB drive with FAT32, installing the latest BIOS, naming it MSI.ROM, and plugging it into the flash BIOS port. Even then, the flash LED stopped working. I’m leaning toward the motherboard being the issue, possibly for safety reasons—I’m considering returning it if needed. Parts used: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, MSI B650M gaming with Wi-Fi, MSI MAG 850 GL RAM, G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO SSD, Kingston KC3000 2TB GPU, RTX 4070 Ti, and a Super. I’m still trying to confirm whether it’s the motherboard or another component like the CPU or PSU.

To confirm the issue, you should test the CPU and power supply in a different machine. Also verify the RAM. If everything checks out, it’s likely the motherboard is faulty. Have you tried booting without the GPU? This CPU includes an integrated graphics unit that can help with troubleshooting. Good luck!

Thank you for the guidance, but it’s hard to verify results with other parts. I’ve also attempted without a GPU, yet nothing worked.

Your estimate is quite accurate given the limitations of testing other parts. It might be useful to reach out to customer support for assistance.
