I was working on reconfiguring the cables for my PC today. Once I finished, after disconnecting the CPU power and the HDMI connector next to the 24pin and my front fan, the system didn’t start. It wasn’t showing any video output, even though the GPU was receiving power, and the CPU fan kept spinning erratically. I’ve read similar issues before, but none match my exact situation or are from 2015 or later. Here are the specs: CPU – Intel i5 8400, Motherboard – ASROCK Z370 Pro4, GPU – Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, Memory – HyperX Fury 2666MHz (2x4, 1x8). The odd thing is the system was functioning perfectly just two hours prior. Maybe I shouldn’t have tampered with those cables.
Do you have a motherboard speaker for checking beep codes? That would make diagnosis simple. It seems like the system might be having trouble starting due to RAM issues—consider removing all components and testing one at a time. Also, confirm that the cables are securely connected.
remove the bios battery for two minutes, then reinsert it. if that doesn't work, turn on the pc. if not, remove the gpu and connect the monitor to the motherboard. shut down the pc and put the gpu back in.
