I updated my computer case and PSU today, but my machine won't boot. The error code C1 appears with the RAM LEDs illuminated. I tried removing and reinserting the RAM sticks one by one without success. The displayed codes are: 7F 08 03 98 C8 C4 C2 C4 C5 7F 03 88 C8 C4 C8 C4 20 7F 03 88 C8 C4 C8 C4 20 This pattern repeats multiple times. 7F 03 30 CC C4 C9 C2 C4 20 FE C1 It stays stuck at C1 until the computer shuts down and restarts the cycle again. My motherboard also has a BIOS switch. Changing it causes the error codes to stop at 55, which occurs on all slots except A1. On slot A1, there are no error messages and no output from the motherboard or graphics card. I note my board is a Gigabyte Z390 master with Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM and a 9900K CPU. Everything functioned properly before the case and PSU changes. Please let me know if you can assist!

I was utilizing the Phanteks Revolt X 1200W power supply and switched it to a more compact master V8580 SFX model to accommodate my enclosure.

No updates were made. Installed one RAM module at a time across all four slots. Planning to purchase new RAM tomorrow to check if this resolves the memory issues, especially since both C1 and error 55 are related to memory problems.

It was an ASUS mobo that failed due to error 55. It seems the CPU cooler was set too close, causing a pin on the LGA socket to bend and destroy the board. Note: This happened on an ASUS Maximus Hero VI with an I7-4770k. During research, I discovered Intel had altered the material used for attaching the IHS from liquid metal to another substance, which raised temperatures significantly. My mistake was tightening the cooler excessively. Updated July 8, 2022 by Cynical_user23

I'm using the gigabyte Aorus Master Z390 board. It doesn't appear to be a CPU issue. I've verified all the connections and they're not bent on the motherboard for the CPU. I've reinserted it several times too. Today I'm installing new RAM, if that doesn't resolve the problem, I'll try another motherboard.

No hard drives, gpu, etc connected. 4) I do not have any display output whatsoever. I have tried both the motherboards display output and the gpus display output.
