just a few days back I was using GOW and my PC was working fine that evening before bedtime. the next day it stopped showing anything at all. i wasn’t sure what might be wrong, so i didn’t take any steps. now i’m noticing it completely fails to display. i’m wondering if there’s a short circuit somewhere. i checked all cables and they’re secure. maybe it’s related to my PSU or CPU—because the motherboard powers on briefly. alternatively, i had very tight RAM timings before, which could also be an issue. i even tried swapping in a different RAM stick, but that didn’t help.
Have you attempted to reset the CMOS to check for improvements? Disconnect the board, remove the battery for 30 seconds, then reinsert it and power it up. This may resolve issues. If the board restarts easily, it might be a hardware problem. CPUs usually last long, but a faulty power supply could be the cause. Until you can obtain a replacement PSU, consider using only essential components: power supply, CPU, and motherboard. Disconnect all other peripherals except the 24-pin and 8-pin CPU connectors. Leave drives, front panel, USB, etc., unplugged. Wait for the system to briefly power on (5-10 seconds) before turning it off due to lack of RAM. Some boards remain active even without RAM. Try installing a single RAM stick at a time and test functionality. If possible, short the power button pins on the board with a screwdriver while connecting the GPU. If video appears, proceed cautiously and add cables gradually. Be sure the system remains off during testing. Are there any diagnostic lights visible on your board?
