Device fails to power up. Check for basic issues.
I recently purchased a Gigabyte G6 (2023) KF laptop. When I powered it on and attempted to install Windows, my drive became corrupted, preventing the installation that day. After shutting it down, the next day the computer failed to turn on even after installing the drive. The manual advised against turning it off before installing the OS, which I hadn't realized. Despite checking everything, the device still doesn’t light up. What should I do? Help needed.
Hello. Are you looking for an installation disk or drive for Windows, or are you attempting to restore/install from the reserved partition on your hard drive or SSD? If the latter, downloading a Windows install ISO onto a USB stick might be simpler.
I was experiencing issues with a pen drive that became corrupted.
It should work fine to move the ISO to another USB stick and restart the Windows setup—previous issues won’t affect this. I thought it was a used copy, though if it’s new, going back to the maker could be an alternative, depending on the problems and your actions afterward.
It’s not a used item. I’ve already emailed the company, but I’m checking if there’s anything else I should know about.
I don't know if its getting any power. It has no light coming out of it so I think it's not. I've tried changing the power cable but it still did nothing. Opening the computer and checking if there's any problem with the battery wouldn't unable RMA?
Yeah, sorry the days of swappable batteries are gone. Don’t tamper with it—it’ll break your warranty. Tech support should already understand that a dead computer isn’t related to a Windows failure, so you probably don’t need to worry about this. Actually, it seems like the laptop is taking blame for the pen drive’s issue, which might explain the problem.
I believe the issue isn't related to installing Windows. It seems you shouldn't power off the PC without an active operating system. The manual mentioned this, so it might be the cause.
