I recently upgraded to a new M.2 drive and managed to get it running, but now I’m trying to switch the old HDD from dynamic to basic mode so I can add more unused 150GB storage. Unfortunately, it isn’t detecting any boot devices and instead boots into BIOS. Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated. The Windows version is already installed and has many files on it.

Are you using Windows 11 or 10? It’s best to have all previous disks ready before beginning the installation. Otherwise, your old boot data might still be on the HDD, which could ruin the setup. You’d need to transfer the necessary files to another drive for safe storage and reinstall Windows using just the M.2 drive.

I fixed it myself by recreating the EFI partition on my NVMe drive.
