While playing a game, my laptop produced an extremely loud sound. Checking the task manager showed the GPU at 93°C. I was very worried, so I saved my game, left the program, and turned off the laptop. The noise continued and the machine didn’t shut down. Anyone know what might be causing this issue?

This reading suggests the GPU thermal paste may have degraded. I haven’t noticed any laptop GPUs reaching 93°C before. Pressing the power button can cause it to shut down immediately, even when Windows refuses to terminate.
