Device fails to post, GPU turns on and off before resuming operation
I connected the CPU fan close to the CPU header and it started working properly. It seems like the issue might be resolved.
It switched into "Protect" mode because it couldn't find a fan on the CPU header. This action was intended to avoid a CPU meltdown. In the BIOS, you can disable CPU fan speed monitoring so the system boots regardless. That should have been a straightforward solution.
