Hi everyone, here’s what I observed: During gaming sessions last night, my GPU reached temperatures around 90°C. After a short while, the game stopped unexpectedly. After taking a shower and returning, I noticed my monitors went black, and both the mouse and keyboard failed to respond. The fans were still running, but the RGB lighting in the case was off. The bottom-mounted fan didn’t spin initially, then briefly spun for about 3 seconds before shutting down. I’m considering either the power supply unit or the motherboard might have failed. I’ve already reset the CMOS and tried booting with a single RAM stick and no peripherals connected. Everything else worked fine the previous night. My BIOS version is compatible, and all cables and monitors functioned properly then. I don’t see any error codes on the motherboard or speakers. My specs include a 7,380x AIO cooler, Deep Cool Captain 240, Corsair RAM, MSI 1080Ti, and a Gigabyte X570 with two HDDs, one SSD, and three NVMe drives. The PSU is a Corsair Rm850W. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Noticing your GPU temperatures exceed 90°C and no video appears suggests the GPU itself may be the issue. Since it's a liquid-cooled unit, look for leaks or blockages in the cooling loop. Try removing the GPU temporarily and connecting your monitor to the motherboard (if applicable) to confirm if the problem persists. Verify the cooling block is properly aligned and the pump is working. For potential PSU or motherboard faults, remove the case, place the board on a non-conductive surface, and power it up with only essential parts connected. This helps eliminate case-related issues. If you don’t have a multimeter, test the PSU separately using one to check power delivery. For now, consider switching to fans instead. P.S. Next time opt for standard cooling solutions.

Make sure to try it with the spare GPU available. 1080Ti units have been failing frequently over the last year (two units affected, issue code 43). During startup, do you notice all components activating—fans spinning, RGB lighting, mouse illumination—and is there any visible output on your network? Otherwise, it seems like the system is completely unresponsive.

I believe the system is starting. I removed the CMOS and tried a different PSU, it booted into BIOS once before switching to a BIOS menu where you can choose options, but it didn’t respond to any key presses so I switched to another keyboard too.
