Hello, I'm setting up a fresh Windows version on my HP laptop after replacing the old one. For the installation media, I tried using a USB drive but only saw disk 0 with no space listed. My desktop recognized the drive, yet the laptop doesn't. When I try to partition or clean the drive from the command prompt, nothing appears except the USB. I'm confused about why the desktop sees it while the laptop doesn't. Could there be a problem with the laptop's connectors? If so, would it be possible to purchase a replacement?

The BIOS on your HP laptop doesn’t show a tab named “advanced” or “tools.” After pressing F2 for diagnostics, the system reported no hard drive was detected.

Check your current laptop model. Look for a system info section or similar. Verify the BIOS settings and confirm if the HDD is configured for AHCI.

You should still be able to update the BIOS even if the laptop doesn't boot into Windows.

It depends on the bios; you'll require a distinct system to download the bios.

I understand it's been a while, but I just installed the latest BIOS on my laptop. Now I need to set up the HDD as ACHI. I checked the BIOS under the system configuration section, but nothing appears to be there. My device model is the HP Pavilion 15-Cc0xx.

Sure, I understand you're asking about assigning a letter to your hard drive in Windows.
