I’ve installed the Asus TUF X570-plus board and everything is connected properly. I double-checked the power cables and PSU, and the power switch functioned earlier today, so it seems not faulty at this moment. When I restart and power on the system, the RGB lights activate but the power button doesn’t respond. Could anyone suggest what I should inspect next?
Some boards lose features when space is limited in BIOS chips. This happens if certain devices are deemed unnecessary or outdated, so room is made for new support or CPUs. A user reported an A320 with a newer 3600 that wouldn't boot. They had the correct BIOS for the 3600, but earlier updates removed some features to accommodate it. The change was permanent afterward. I think the BIOS updates for boards without small ROM chips removed affect 1000 series CPUs, but I haven’t heard much about a motherboard like the X570 losing support for what’s now a very old CPU generation. Did MasonZ726 include a speaker in the box? Are there any error lights that could point to your issue? You might want to test memory placements differently and share your complete setup.
I'd say the same, probably not a good fit for the X570. But I haven't completely eliminated it.
The motherboard wasn’t included with a speaker. There are no LED lights showing any issues. When I turn on the power and moved my RAM to the first and third slots to check, it didn’t work either. My current configuration includes a Ryzen 7 3700X, an EVGA GeForce 2060, two TFT Vulcanz RAM sticks (8GB each), a thermal throttle 240 water CPU cooler, and an EVGA 700 PSU.
