Device fails to activate upon laptop startup
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with an Asus ProArt P16 and an MSI G274QPF. The monitor won't turn on when my laptop is powered on. It's connected through HDMI to the laptop and via DP to my desktop. I use a USB switch to manage devices. When the laptop is on but the desktop is off, the monitor doesn’t appear as connected and it won’t power up at all. Even with the nipple, it can’t be activated. On the other hand, when the desktop is on, switching the input works fine. I've tried several fixes: disabling fast startup, adjusting power settings, changing the HDMI cable. I’ve also tested with another monitor, but it always works if the cable is reconnected. It seems to depend on the cable or possibly the monitor itself. Maybe the default MyASUS software or Nvidia Studio Drivers are causing the issue? I’m hoping someone can help or point out a flaw with either device. This is getting frustrating, and I’m open to any suggestions.
I believe the issue lies with the adapters themselves. Keep in mind I’m using an M1 Mac, so I always need an adapter regardless. However, it’s possible all adapters could be contributing to the problem.
