Device experiences unexpected freezing and shutdown problems.
My computer suddenly began behaving oddly. Whenever I opened Valorant in-game, the system would freeze completely, forcing a shutdown. Sleeping mode didn’t stop fans or turn off RGB lighting—it kept running. Everything felt off after moving my PC to the living room and back without changing settings. I used the same power outlet and tried DDU and Windows file checks for corruption. If possible, I’ll switch to a new Windows version. Anyone have ideas? My setup is Windows 11 with good temperatures (CPU and GPU under 70) and specs: RTX 4090, 7950X3D, 32GB RAM DDR5, 5600MHz, 980 Pro SSD, 1200W PSU, B650E from ASUS Strix.
Is there anything unusual happening? Review memory settings and related options. Does your PC automatically update Windows?
It looks like your PC isn't configured to automatically update.
I attempted that and found nothing beyond critical power error windows failing to shut down properly. My friend mentioned having a faulty power outlet before this happened, so I might switch to another one to isolate the problem. I’ll also try reseating it again and possibly reinstalling Windows. Thanks for your assistance!
Before you proceed with a fresh install, it might be worth checking the Nvidia forums. I’ve been searching for solutions and encountered some driver-related issues. It could be helpful to consider rolling back to an older driver. Sorry for the lack of ideas—I’m new to this and learned on my own, so my teachers are pretty much clueless!
I resolved the issue, just made sure everything was properly aligned and it functioned correctly. Thanks for your support!
