I own a Logitech M510 wireless mouse and have faced intermittent drops and slow performance for roughly six months. After troubleshooting, I resolved the problem. Other USB-related lag issues seem linked to audio problems, which isn’t my concern. System details: Dell Latitude 5480 with Intel Core i5 7440HQ, Intel HD Graphics 630, NVIDIA GeForce 930MX, SSD from Toshiba THNSNK256GVN8 M.2. Updated July 28, 2023 by Cringe_Master245.

The USB dongle is positioned near the mouse physically. There may be some space or object between them. Wireless signals rely on electromagnetic waves that weaken when passing through materials like air or dense substances; thicker or denser materials cause more loss, potentially leading to data drops or errors.

The standard method for repairing a Logitech mouse involves keeping Windows and all relevant drivers updated. Remove and reinstall the Logitech software through Logitech Options or Setpoint, then restart the computer at each stage. Another often ignored issue is ensuring the battery is alkaline and retains sufficient charge. These mice are designed to be energy-efficient, but they can become unreliable as the battery nears depletion. Good luck!

I'm working through the steps you recommended, but the Dell Support assistance indicates all my drivers are current. However, checking the Dell drivers page reveals newer versions that aren't installed on my system. Additionally, I can't locate drivers for my specific mouse model, leaving me stuck. I've also confirmed the battery isn't the problem after replacing it several times without resolving the issue. Updated July 28, 2023 by Cringe_Master245 Extra information

That didn't work, as there is no tool to download the drivers for 64 bit Windows, and the tools that I tried either couldn't find it, or didn't support the mouse, and redirected to a link that no longer exists. Although none of this worked, I do have an idea that it could be the dongle overheating, as it can get hot when the computer is being used.
