Ensure the correct driver is installed on the client PC when the box is selected; disabling it will alter settings so print jobs appear on the host machine, which may create additional issues. It’s better to keep this feature active and install compatible drivers for all connected computers. If devices fail to communicate, navigate to Control Panel → Network & Internet → Network and Sharing Center → Advanced sharing settings and enable "Network discovery" under Private.

If your printer is connected via a network, some older models such as the Brother unit require a USB-only setup. You'll need another PC to act as a print server. I've used routers with USB ports before, but I haven't tried them. Mostly because my ISP blocked that port.
