Device card for Windows 11 has known public issues.
Summary of the Windows 11 Insider Preview update (10.0.26120.4230) highlights a new Device Card feature with an error. The article notes that some laptops, specifically those without an RTX 4050 GPU, lack the expected 6GB of VRAM instead of the correct 2GB. The author finds the update interesting but feels Microsoft should refine Device Card settings in Settings. They were surprised the image was included. Source: Windows Insider Blog.
Updated to Windows. Tech News covers articles about new developments. Noting an error you found in a blog post isn't considered newsworthy. The details shown in the graphic are probably just examples and not real system specs. Are there any laptops featuring an i7 11370h and an RTX 4050 GPU? The 11th generation mobile CPUs came out in 2021, while the RTX 4050 Mobile was launched in 2023. A laptop with the RTX 4050 Mobile would likely have come with a 12th or 13th generation CPU (perhaps a 11th). It seems these numbers were probably added randomly for demonstration rather than being accurate device information.
It could work, but it's not a great example. This is my debut on the site, so I wasn't sure what counts as 'news' or not.
