Device cannot launch Windows on its own and fails to store BIOS settings.
Hey there! I've been dealing with a frustrating issue that's been affecting my productivity lately. The computer won't start without me pressing the power button. Instead, it keeps asking me to press F2 to keep Windows running, which is getting really annoying. Eventually, it does boot up, which explains why I've tolerated it for a while. I've tried several solutions: partially or fully removing RAM, unplugging USB devices, disconnecting other hard drives except the Windows one, changing the BIOS settings or resetting it completely (though it restarts without saving), and even swapping out the BIOS battery—though the time in BIOS seems to work for some reason. My setup includes an MSI Z97 GAMING 7 with a GTX 970, an I7 4790K processor, 16GB of RAM (four 4GB sticks), and a Samsung 850EVO 500GB SSD. If anyone has faced this problem before, feel free to share any tips or fixes!
Thank you so much! I was nervous at first, but it turned out really easy. My computer is now functioning properly. I’ll stay in touch if anything changes, but for now, your effort made my day!
