Hey there, I've adjusted my home network setup recently (the ISP's modem was configured as a bridge, with their assistance). My TP-Link WR940N router manages DHCP now. After the change, some PCs connect through wall sockets in other rooms, while others work fine when directly linked to the modem. A few devices also function properly on the wall sockets, so it’s unclear what’s causing the issue. I tried a bit of troubleshooting and noticed something interesting: when I plugged an Ethernet cable into my PC (with the other end in the wall socket), Windows showed "Identifying..." and the IP was correctly assigned—suggesting it reached the router to get an address via DHCP. Yet, the internet connection still fails, and after a few minutes (usually 5-10 seconds) it switches to "Unidentified Network - No Internet" with an odd IP. I’m really confused and would appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

I checked the router logs starting at line 197, columns 197 and 198. Those entries show the PC connecting via the wall socket. The first four lines indicate direct connections to the modem. It seems these could serve as a signal or marker.

I believe the wall sockets were connected to the router or a switch that feeds the router at the opposite end. In bridge mode, the modem should only have the router plugged in.
