Have you discovered a resolution? I'm facing the same problem with LG, and they didn't assist much—just advised returning the item.

Same issue appears with a brand new MSI Stealth Studio 17 laptop (13th gen i9, 4080, W11 Pro). Brightness stays steady without HDR, but it fluctuates wildly when using HDR, unlike during normal gaming. Interestingly, it behaves differently in HDR mode compared to regular play. It seems the problem might not be related to the monitor, possibly a Windows-related issue. I tried enabling HDR with Win-Alt-B during games and turned it off afterward.
