Hey there, I'm facing a problem with my LG - 27GL850-B monitor. When I enable HDR, the brightness changes randomly and subtly but clearly. It's frustrating, though I really enjoy the enhanced colors in HDR. I've checked some advice online: I tried turning off auto-brightness in the Windows display settings (no option available), changed my monitor settings from "gamer 1" to "standard," and even switched power settings to full power without success. I suspect the "black stabilizer" feature might be the issue, but it can't be adjusted through any menu. Any suggestions would be super helpful!

Welcome! Have you disabled any energy-saving features in the monitor’s menu? LG indicates Smart Energy Savings is active, likely relying on an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust brightness according to room lighting. This operates independently from color settings like standard, vivid, or gaming modes, so you’ll need to turn it off separately.

Adjust the display to the default setting, turn off HDR in Windows, and attempt to disable it again. Check whether it remains off after re-enabling HDR.

This let me adjust the options, though they were initially turned off. I also attempted to re-enable HDR, but the problem persists.

Have you explored using HDR on your Windows system? It’s possible the brightness changes come from the HDR algorithm adapting the backlight, or it might work consistently across different scenes.

It might be a side effect of HDR. The adjustment appears stronger initially, then becomes less consistent afterward. I changed settings multiple times during the typing process.
