This applies to PCIe SSDs, though the server only accepts M.2 SATA SSDs (a mistake I made when buying a 2TB PCIe drive for 100€). It doesn’t recognize any SATA SSDs other than M.2, only through the RAID-PCIe solution. I avoided using its BIOS because it’s extremely poor quality. SATA M.2 drives start at around 45€, and finding them locally is unlikely unless they’re in stock. The USB drives are widely available and affordable—my first was 10€, another 26€, saving about 10€ compared to a 256GB SATA M.2.
