This motherboard comes from an ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX and won’t accept BIOS updates. After several upgrades, it finally settled into a case for a few months without problems. Before working on it, everything functioned properly. Over time, I added more components and eventually rebuilt a PC using the same board and case, though I switched to a different power supply. Once assembled and cleaned, connecting it caused no display or BIOS issues—just a blue GPU light and everything operating normally. I ran CLRTC, checked the CMOS battery, re-seated all parts multiple times, and tested RAM individually even with Corsair Vengeance RAM. USB ports worked fine, and my Windows installer recognized the keyboard. I attempted to flash a new BIOS, but ASUS doesn’t offer an official E-Flash tool, so I’m stuck. I’ve purchased three SSDs for this build and still can’t get it to work. I suspect static electricity or environmental factors might be the issue, especially since I was grounded during builds. The specs are: Intel i7-9700F, AMD Radeon RX 580, 8GB ADATA, 2666MHz RAM, ROG GL12CX chipset (likely z390).
When uploading, broken paths hide your content—look for post codes instead. Usually these are small colored indicators on the motherboard. Absence suggests a problem; you still have intel but it’s an F chip, so no basic GPU to run tests on. I usually say the regular model costs about $20 more than the F version in this case. Despite that, F chips can be pricier due to supply and demand. You’ll need to swap your GPU for something usable, even if it’s not top-notch. This was built from an ASUS platform using a custom Doodoo chipset. There are no audible signals or LED cues, and the power switch lacks color changes. I've tested various motherboards—RX 580, 1050 Ti, AMD HD 7070—but nothing works. Even with an 8/9th generation CPU and an integrated GPU, the Doodoo board doesn't support it due to missing DPI or HDMI ports.
