It happened around 11:40 at night. I enabled wake-on-LAN in both Windows and the BIOS. Have you ever seen Windows update activate a completely powered-off machine? Could this be a security threat or just an overzealous feature from Microsoft?
It felt like the ideal time, though I’ve learned power spikes often affect PCs. It might have been a minor surge or a network issue.
Checking the connection now, using Wi-Fi enabled and disconnected via LAN. It seems there might be some unusual activity being transmitted. Please note—I’m not an IT specialist and can’t confirm the details.
Magic packets are on layer 2, which means they need clever tricks to reach my network. It stopped when I turned off the internet connection and reset the native translations. Now I'm mainly concerned about whether they entered anything and if it was an attack. I'm unsure what to do next.
