I understand that for certain titles it's the system hardware that enables playing on Ultra, while for others it varies. I'm having trouble with WD_2 despite having an RX580 and a Ryzen 1400.
Having trouble? At 1080p it should perform adequately with high detail options. The game isn't highly optimized, so consistent 60fps isn't guaranteed.
I'm not sure how it felt with my 2700X and 1070ti that they let me jump into the 1440p range starting Wednesday, which caused my frame rates to drop slightly. Not a big change, though—I managed to keep around 130-140fps in PubG at high settings with 1080p, though I did see occasional drops to 80-90fps, which was still okay.
Typically, hardware suggestions aim for a seamless and crisp gaming or media experience. Ideal specs include 1080P at 60 FPS or 720P at 25 FPS.
For creating a game, a proper developer focuses on particular hardware and standards from the start. (Unity and Unreal don’t always make this easy.) Watching development tutorials for titles like “Planet X2” or “Planet X3” can give you insight into how games are typically aimed at certain platforms.
If you're okay with lower quality settings and can handle around 50+ frames per second, you'll be much more satisfied than those chasing ultra and 200+ fps. Based on what I've seen, no system has ever run AAA titles at the highest detail with over 80fps. My current GPU could manage it once Battlefield V is released, but I'm not sure. With a 560Ti chip running 50-70fps at medium settings, I had a great time playing.
