My mom wanted to purchase a laptop for my sister, so she asked me to pick one. I decided to go with a 2-in-1 model because it has a touch screen and can transform into a tablet. I considered two options: the Lenovo Yoga 500 15isk (i5 6200u) and the Lenovo Yoga 520 14isk (i3 7100u). Choosing between them was difficult. The Yoga 500 has a larger screen and a more powerful CPU, but the Yoga 520 is newer and includes an M2 slot for both SSD and HDD. The 500 lacks an M2 slot, though both models have the same price, an FHD display, upgradable RAM, and an HDD slot. In terms of weight, the 15-inch model is heavier, but I think my sister doesn’t mind much since she stays at home and doesn’t travel often. Which one should I select?

Honestly, nothing works well. The color quality was bad—only 59% sRGB—and it wouldn't be good for most graphics tasks. There should be better options, even with a limited budget.

I understand that two of these laptops are not great, but if you had to pick just two, which one would you prefer?

If you were to locate a Yoga 520-14IKB, it would have included an active digitizer pen when it arrived. These pens are far more practical for creating graphics than the standard touchscreen stylus lacking pressure sensitivity. Ensure it still comes with that pen, which also required an unusual AAAA-size battery.

Regarding the other models you mentioned, there wasn’t a notable distinction between them. Choose the more affordable option and allocate the remaining funds to a digitizer pen, provided neither appears to be in worse condition.
