Hey, for installing Windows 8.1 on an SSD, you'll want a solid drive size. A typical minimum is around 500GB, but 1TB is better for smoother performance. Just make sure your SSD meets the system requirements. Good luck with your build!

Windows 8 requires roughly 27 gigabytes of space. You can shrink its footprint by adjusting settings. If you plan to run additional applications on the SSD together with Windows 8, consider purchasing a 120 or 240 GB SSD.

Windows requires more than 20GB of storage. Aim for at least 32GB. 120GB provides ample space for most users without needing numerous apps or games on the SSD.

You can manage with a 32GB drive, though going over 120GB is better advised. These program data files expand storage usage rapidly.

60GB would suffice for a boot drive and works for certain applications, though SSDs with 60GB tend to lag behind their higher-end versions in speed. I wouldn’t reduce it further, and increasing to 120GB seems a smart move. It fits comfortably with Windows 8.1, all my software, and a few games.
