Hello! Your recent posts are looking great. For your MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO, you might want to consider pairing it with an i9-10900, Ryzen 5 5600X, or Ryzen 9 5900X. If you need more options or think another CPU would suit better, just let me know. Thanks ahead!
You can sense the slowdown in games by noticing performance drops. The 6700k remains a solid CPU for gaming, especially with an overclocked setup. It might start to struggle around next year but should handle the 3070 well. Upgrading to the 5600x makes sense if you're focused on pure gaming; skipping the 10900k when the 5900x is available saves money and effort.
I'm noticing my FPS is lower than expected. It's especially noticeable when compared to others with better CPU performance but weaker GPU. Still, they manage more FPS at the same or higher settings. I've also observed that my CPU gets stressed at 100% while my GPU stays idle. It could be due to an unusual setting I haven't configured. Probably not worth investing in a 5900X if I only stream occasionally and render sporadically. Maybe 5600X would work better?
Streaming options include the 3070 paired with the nvenc encoder. For rendering, unless it requires quick results, the 5600x works well as a CPU.
If you need something updated, I suggest a 5600x or a 3700x if you can't get the 5600x. @jaslion He's running a very old version and requires a fresh CPU.
It's a perfectly normal CPU at this point. It might not hit 200fps, but it should comfortably reach over 100 without any issues. Just crank up the settings a bit for a smoother experience.
I successfully upgraded from a 4.2GHz to a 4.5GHz boost clock while keeping stability intact. It feels like the CPU is getting a fresh start. The frame rate improved noticeably and stuttering reduced significantly. Based on your advice, I plan to get my hands on the 5600X next year early. Thanks a lot for all the support so far!
