Hello everyone, I’m setting up my PC from scratch for the first time. It’s a pre-built machine, and I’m choosing components myself. I need advice on CPU options, motherboard, and RAM. My work involves web scraping, running Linux VMs, light language tasks, some web development, SQL databases, Android Studio, and gaming (Apex, Arma 3 with mods, Squad, Control, City Skylines). I’ve heard AMD CPUs are better for multi-threading than most Intel ones and claim they use less power. My budget is around $2000 USD (about $3000 NZD) for the whole tower, including case. I’m considering a Ryzen 7 5700G or a Ryzen 5 5600? I’d like 32 GB of RAM now—after my first PC, people said 8 was enough, but then I upgraded to 16 GB last year for smoother multitasking across virtual desktops. Should I go with 32 GB DDR4-3200? Also, which motherboard should I pick? I don’t need Wi-Fi or overclocking yet, and I’m not sure about Ethernet or extra features. Two screens at 1440p in 144Hz won’t change much for my CPU choice. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm truly sorry, but I was working in dark mode when I wrote this. I didn't realize the text turned white, which is why you were told. I've updated the post. Have I resolved the issue now? My current setup includes an I5-4460 processor, 4 x G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3-1600 memory (16GB total), a GTX960 graphics card paired with a Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H AIO motherboard and FSP Group 400w 80+ Gold power supply. I also have one 240GB SSD, one 1TB SSD, and one 1TB HDD.

Here’s a revised version of your request:

I’d consider the $2000 option at the link you shared.
Please note I’m relatively new to high-end builds—feel free to adjust this list if you have more seasoned folks around.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’d love to understand the choice behind selecting this CPU, RAM, and MOBO. Would you like to explore more about how to make these decisions?
