Hi, I understand your concern about the speed issues. To determine whether your Alcatel Luctent i-240w-a supports 5GHz or 2.4GHz, you can check the device's specifications or perform a quick network test using an online speed test tool. If it only works on 2.4GHz, consider switching to a 5GHz band if possible. Let me know if you need further help!

Searching online confirmed it supports Wi-Fi 2.4/5 GHz and standard AC connectivity, no 5 GHz available.

Yes, you can connect a 5GHz router by running an Ethernet cable from your ISP to another router. It’s not necessary to use only Wi-Fi.

Absolutely. You can enable bridge mode, yet there are still other devices operating on the Alcatel setup—like the TV and phone. Personally, I rely on three routers, and everything functions smoothly.

I suggest checking high-performance routers designed for extended coverage. Which models stand out to you?

It's accurate. Please specify what information you require and your budget details. Also, thank you for letting me know about the delay—I didn’t see the alert.

The funds are likely under $50 and should span roughly two rooms.

Consider checking these specifications: wireless b/g/n/ac gigabit ethernet at 1000 Mbps. TP-Link offers affordable routers with this feature—just browse their options.
