Hello! I just upgraded my GPU from an RX 570 to an RX 6750 XT. I enjoy playing several AAA games, but I notice some stutters in Apex Legends and Valorant. When I run those titles, the performance drops noticeably. On the other hand, when I test them in their intended settings, the issues seem to fade slightly. I’ve looked up benchmarks online and see my card consistently runs at around 300fps in 1080p, while mine is usually between 165-250fps. I’m using low settings for both display and anti-aliasing, with V-sync turned off. Before the upgrade, I used DDU as a precaution since previous drivers might have caused problems. I’m curious if my CPU is the source of the stutters or if there’s another factor at play. Also, are there any alternatives to upgrading my CPU? Thanks for taking the time to read my message—I look forward to your advice.

Your processor is causing a significant slowdown. You might consider switching to a Ryzen 5 5600 or higher (5000 series) and notice a big boost in performance. I helped a friend who plays Valorant; he upgraded from a 2700x to a Ryzen 5 5600 and saw a noticeable improvement.

Apex Legends demands a lot from the CPU. It was a major shift for me when I moved from a 4790k to a 3950x. The game would fully utilize my processor and lead to noticeable lag, especially with a GTX 1080 (back then). Your motherboard can affect performance—some setups handle a 5800x3D version well and offer better results. The difference would be significant.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll remember these ideas next time I shop for a new CPU.
