It's not about their capabilities, it's about their intentions. The leaders at Bungie were determined to concentrate solely on consoles, avoiding PC releases. They preferred to allocate their time and resources accordingly. Current external pressure is prompting them to reassess, yet they still favor a console-centric approach.
I’d like to see it unfold, but as @TheJesusGuy mentioned, it might turn out to be a poor port just like the Dark Souls: Death Edition. I’d play it if it came to that, but I worry about getting frustrated with the lack of PC support.
