Designing a hackintosh involves several hardware considerations.
Hello! I've been considering setting up a hackintosh for some time now. I play games regularly and own a gaming rig with a Z97-K motherboard, an i5 4690k CPU, GTX 1060 GPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM. My main goal is to have a Mac alongside for using Logic Pro. I thought about upgrading to a 7GHz processor, a new motherboard, and some fresh RAM so I could run my old CPU while building the system. I found a case from Phanteks that lets two computers fit together (http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-MiniXL.html). I’m sure the parts I have are compatible, but I know building a hackintosh requires precise hardware. I checked around and think an i5 4690k should work fine. For the case, the GIGABYTE H97N-WIFI looks like a good fit. The RAM and storage matter a lot—regular SSDs are fine, but you might want something fast for performance. Any advice would be really helpful!
The Hackintosh forum isn't permitted here. 7700k isn't available on macOS yet. As long as RAM, HDD, or SSD stays under 16GB, it works. The GPU should come pre-installed with Sierra.
Absolutely, it should function. I've created two similar setups before, both using untested motherboards, and they performed perfectly. The 970 should also support drivers, so RAM and storage aren't critical issues.
