Designing 2D video animations involves crafting visual sequences in a two-dimensional format.
Before diving into the details: Please forgive if this isn’t the right part. It seems creating animations will focus more on the software side rather than just general video production. To be honest, I’m new to video editing—have been in graphic design for a while but never worked with video before. I chose Sony Vegas for a trial, hoping it’ll suit my needs if I like it. I’m only willing to commit if I can learn how to use it properly. I’m not very familiar with it yet, but I’m trying to achieve smooth popup boxes and similar effects, like the Like/Dislike box in many of Linus’s latest videos. I think they’re animated using static images or PNGs that move seamlessly. I’m unsure how they’re done smoothly, and I haven’t found a good tutorial on this myself. Would anyone know if you have experience with this or recommend some helpful guides? If not, maybe someone can walk me through it—like the example at 1:07 in the video below. Thanks!
I noticed answers on lynda.com coming up. If I tried it, I wouldn’t share this post since I can’t. There’s a free trial available, but it asks for billing details—something I don’t have a credit card for, and I can’t use my parents’ info either.
