I haven't played a game in nearly two years, but I'm feeling better now—just wait for PAC-MAN Fever to pass!
I’m not entirely in your state, but it feels like I’m wasting my time. I’m currently stuck at 24, going to work, and all my free time ends up on my PC. That’s really sad for someone who once had real passions and friends. I’d love to shift that, but then I’d feel even more down about how awful life is when you have to work five days a week on things you don’t like—otherwise you’d run out of money to pay bills. It’s a miserable existence without goals. I really hope you do better and find some joy in gaming or something else. This is my first time seeing such a post on the forum since joining.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It sounds like you're feeling overwhelmed by a highly digital lifestyle. You mention spending much of your day on screens and struggling to find time for yourself, which makes it hard to unwind. It's understandable to feel stuck in a routine without clear direction. Your concerns about wanting change but being afraid of the unknown are completely valid. Life can feel complicated, especially when balancing work and personal goals. If you're thinking about upgrading your setup or just need someone to listen, I'm here to help.
Consider grabbing an MMO or explore a game with a compelling narrative, no matter how you like it. Maybe dive into a classic RPG. I’ve been leaning toward this for a while—still playing SWTOR even though it’s now under EA and not what it used to be. The dying light has offered some entertainment, but the story has deteriorated over time, at least in my view.
As a cop, you must be approved before joining, otherwise it’s just about hanging out in a popular group. Connecting with others, making friends, and having fun are part of the experience. During my first week on Altis, I met around five people and formed a small group.
It occurs to me regularly. When it happens, I just start watching YouTube videos or reading manga. Or it’s something others experience too. I’m referring to a condition where people try everything they can to obtain something they really want, but once they have it, they feel it doesn’t matter or isn’t fulfilling. It’s pointless or it doesn’t bring joy. -You get what you want, but not what you need.
