Hi everyone, I’m using a Ubiquiti UniFi UAP at home with the controller software installed on my MacBook Air. I’m interested in features like usage stats and guest portals, but I know it needs the controller to be running around the clock. I’ve noticed some people deploying the controller on AWS EC2 and have a few questions about this setup. Could you help?

- What’s the monthly cost for running the controller on EC2 with the free tier? Would I need additional services beyond the free plan?
- How would I install and operate the controller on EC2? Should I set up Linux and install it there? If yes, what steps are involved?
- Do you have any experience with this configuration on AWS? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Additionally, would operating Windows in EC2 be preferable over Linux since you have a strong familiarity with Windows and think it would be simpler to set up? Would that be feasible?
