I secured a P6T Deluxe with 16GB RAM for $45. I’m wondering if the X5660 chipset works with this motherboard.

You also have a CPU cooler, but I'm not sure if it will be sufficient for temperatures above CLOCKING.

If you're not keen on spending $10, it might make more sense to purchase an X5670.

The 5670 offers similar support to the 5660. For reliable support without a BIOS upgrade, you should use a Xeon 3500 or 5500 series processor, or a quad-core i7.

Is there a CPU included? Many users buy X58 boards with an i7-920 or similar as a socket cover, which means it’s ready to install the latest BIOS if needed. Otherwise, you can likely get one for a very low price. How impressive is it? Most affordable tower coolers work well at 4.0GHz 1.3v speeds, but for higher clocks (above 4.2GHz) you might want something better.

I’m really comfortable with 3.8GHz, that’s enough for me.
