I found an old Dell Vorsto and I was curious about selling it for $50 to $60. I believe it might be a Vostro 270, though I’m not sure because the CPU inside the Vorsto is slightly different from what I have. Here are the details: I3 3420 Dell XR1gt chipset, 4GB RAM (single memory), 1600MHz Dell PSU, no storage before opening. After checking the components, it seems like a decent upgrade opportunity for my current setup, which has an i5 3550, Z77X D3H, Vengeance 16GB at 1866MHz, and a GTX 650. If you think it’s not worth the effort, should I just extract the RAM and possibly the hard drive from his PC? The RAM speed matches what I have.
It seems unlikely you'll earn more than $30 USD from this, particularly without a drive. The best approach is to divide the amount or upgrade your setup—like adding an SSD and extra RAM—to turn it into a server or home theater PC.

Older 2-4th generation systems work great for Minecraft servers—it's definitely better than running it on your own machine. To check performance, you can boot Ubuntu from a USB and set up a server there. Be aware that chunk generation might be affected by the flash drive's speed.
