I've owned this Dell Precision 5530 for more than a year. I've cleaned the fans, replaced the CPU with Corsair TM30 and the Nvidia Quadro P1000, but the CPU still reaches 100°C and throttles under light loads. Valheim runs smoothly at low settings, Beamng works fine at the lowest, etc. I even tried a laptop cooler with five fans to boost airflow, but it doesn't keep things cool enough. I'm considering thermal pads or kryonaut liquid metal. Any other ideas or checks for the thermal performance? The keyboard feels almost impossible to reach around the CPU area now.

The basic movement of the 5530 isn't designed to completely destroy your laptop, though it may affect performance. This level of heat is typical and should be normal. An undervoltage often resolves the problem.

You'd need to carefully adjust the voltage on this locked Xeon E2176M processor.

Intels xtu utility marks the beginning. Undervolting differs from overclocking and can be applied to many devices. I’ll search online for more info.
