I collected four Latitude 7490 units at $25 each from a local surplus warehouse. Two models are from 2018 and two from 2019. Upon testing, the 2018 units boot up after about two seconds. This appears to be a recurring problem with this model. I’m curious if there’s a solution or if I should replace the motherboards, which are available on eBay for around $45. A concern is that service tags won’t match the systems, and I’m unsure if reprogramming them is possible. Would it be better to buy replacement boards or try assembling the existing ones?
