I need some guidance and troubleshooting tips. I’m usually comfortable fixing PCs and laptops, but this one is giving me trouble. I replaced a broken screen as a kind gesture to a coworker, but after reassembling everything, the device shows almost no activity. I didn’t run a test boot before trying repairs (though I did see a photo of it powered on with visible damage). At one stage, while taking it apart, it emitted a loud beep. I thought it might be because the machine had been put to sleep instead of shut down, so I removed the lid to turn it off. I then disconnected the battery right away and didn’t reattach it until I installed the new screen (before putting it back together to confirm everything was fine). This was a mistake—I haven’t repaired a laptop in a while, so I forgot about it. When trying to turn it on without any power source, there’s no response at all. With external power, the caps lock light flashes once. I assumed it was because the laptop had been put to sleep, but then I lifted the lid and woke it. Right after, I removed the battery completely before reconnecting it until I put in the replacement screen. I’m still trying to figure out what’s wrong. When checking connections, everything seems correct. I tried swapping the DIMM to a different slot (no spare available). I kept the power button pressed for 60 seconds with and without external power, with and without the battery attached. I pulled out a coin cell to reset the CMOS. I looked for any physical damage, except for a cracked plastic piece on the fan connection.

Did you manage to solve it, or are you still facing the same problem?
