It seems like you're questioning the likelihood of a minor board-level problem arising anywhere along the extended traces.

It's best to avoid opening a laptop, particularly newer models, unless absolutely required. Small ribbon cables have limited capacity for repeated connections and disconnections.

You have a few options to consider. Upgrading the battery could help extend its life, but since it only lasts a few hours now, you might want to explore other improvements first. Selling your laptop and getting a new one is another possibility, especially if the newer model offers better specs. The switch from i5 1135g7 to i5 1235u could affect performance—though the power saving of about 12 watts might not be significant for everyday use. Check reviews to see which processor delivers better results for your needs.

Unfortunately, you can't purchase oversized batteries that fit neatly behind the laptop anymore—they're no longer available in that form. However, it's possible that replacing the entire battery could extend your device's performance by a few extra minutes if the laptop has been running for several months or years. Regarding the CPU, I'm not entirely confident about current models; according to recent benchmarks, the 11th generation chip appears slower by about 25%, while the 12th generation offers better speed and efficiency. Intel Core i5-1235U versus Core i5-1135G7 at 2.40GHz (PassMark Software, March 8, 2024)

The 12th generation appears to offer a higher clock speed. Pairing that with lower power consumption could make it faster until thermal limits are reached, which your cooling pad usually doesn’t cause. The addition of six extra cores also adds to its performance. Edit: All tests indicate the 1235u outperforms the 1135g7?

I completely misspelled that earlier. The 12th generation is superior—appreciate the feedback.

It looks like you're pointing out that the motherboard seems to be lacking in features.
